1.13.2010

SATA and Mini USB

There are additional mini-USB connector on M10. This connector is located parallel to the SATA and power connectors available. M10 result not only installed in a notebook, netbook, or PC cassing, but can also be used as external storage.

Not Complicated

For external storage, M10 is so easy. Just connect the included USB cable into the USB port on the computer and the M10, then turn on the computer. It was all.

LED indicator lights on the front side of M10 turns blue, a sign that the SSD (Solid State Disk) is recognized by the operating system Microsoft Windows XP is commonly used by people. When drive is working (writing or reading), the red indicator LED will blink.

Test

To see the performance of M10, can use several benchmarks (HD Tune, HD Tach and PC Mark 05 Pro). Deliberately done when connecting the USB port, and not the SATA ports. Because to know its performance as an external storage with the assumption of internal storage performance as no different than the E10, M10 subordinate products.

HD Tune 2.53 read performance of a linear measure of the SSD, M10 record average speed 27.5 MB/s. Meanwhile, HD Tach benchmark 3.0.1.0 shows the write speed average 30MB/s and read speed 34.2 MB/s. These figures are roughly in accordance with the Silicon Power claims in Mini USB 2.0 connection, read speed up to 35MB/s and write speeds up to 25MB/s.

Conclusion

Solid State Disk M10 Silicon Power is flexible, can be installed as an internal or external storage on the net/notebook or PC. For external storage, M10 really fun. Easy to use and quick to work, especially when reading. Nice look and taken lightly. However, given the capacity that is not too wide and also the absence of cache memory, you are advised not to make the primary storage, especially for booting.
